He hypothesised that toxic hydrogen sulfide could reduce the demand for oxygen. Now the first thing I think of is the cyro-sleep that people are put in in the scifi video games I play. They go into a frozen state for X amount of years, and return when it is convenient to the plot. They have had it work for short times on mice, but I wonder if it would be able to work for maybe years at a time. Another point he made was what they are already using it for: heart attack patients, surgeries, etc. It is such an interesting way of remedying those kinds of problems.
